CV Μαρία-Λουΐζα Λαοπόδη

Maria-Louiza Laopodi (mlaopodi) was born in Athens in 1979. At 9 she moved with her family to Luxembourg and then to Brussels where she graduated from the European School of Brussels obtaining the European Baccalaureate with emphasis on the Arts and Foreign Languages.
She studied Interior Architecture in the Academie Royale des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, Belgium and the Univeristy of Kent, England completing her studies with a distinction.
She continued her education in Edinburgh, Scotland at the Queen Margaret University College in en effort to link architecture to culture and obtained an MSc in Festival Producing & Management with a distinction.
Her professional occupation begins in 2002 and involves both areas, culture and architecture since one is part of the other. In this way, her work expresses a more general understanding of the position of architecture in society and architecture’s ability to intervene in the design of everyday life, the quality of life and the protection and preservation of the natural and built environment.
Maria-Louiza has mainly focused her work in projects studying the relation between public and private spaces and the way those coexist.
